

Types of textile products concerned

Active substances must be authorised for a specific product type and use. They are listed on the ECHA (European Chemicals Agency) website, available here.
For textiles, this mainly concerns TP 9 and TP 18 (TP = Type of Product).

If you place treated articles on the market, you have to follow these guidelines:
- Respect the usage rights marks
- Ensure you have evidence of the effectiveness of biocidal treatments
- Find out more about care instructions to preserve the biocidal properties over time
- Follow the labelling rules for your biocide-treated item

Labelling rules for textile products treated with biocides
The labelling must specify:
- Presence of biocidal products in the product
- Attributed biocidal property
- Names of active substances contained in the product
- Name of the biocidal nanomaterials present followed by (nano)
- Any relevant instructions on precautionary measures for use
