Focus on our new PFAS-free Outdoor waterproof fabric
PFAS-free waterproof textiles are at the heart of a major technological transition in the textile industry. Historically, PFAS were used for their excellent water-repellent properties (e.g. water resistance). They create a highly effective hydrophobic barrier that prevents water from penetrating the fabric fibres.
However, their environmental and health impact is pushing for their elimination. The progressive ban on PFASs in the European Union is a step in the right direction.
To help its awning manufacturer customers anticipate these new standards, Subrenat's R&D team has developed a PFAS-free waterproofing agent for its outdoor textiles, particularly awning fabrics, without compromising their performance.
The result: the final textile is robust, offers optimum waterproofing and UV protection, and is priced in line with the market. What's more, it complies with the strictest standards and contributes to a healthier, more sustainable future.
